The Ivy Singles Social Club May Event at the Pen Arts Building
Hosted by the The Cornell Club of Washington
1300 17th Street, N.W. (at N Street)
Washington, D.C. 20036
Friday, May 31, 2019
6:30 to 9:00 p.m.
Join us for an evening of exceptional company and conversation at the Pen Arts Building and Art Museum, home of the National League of Pen Women. The Pen Arts Building is an elegant historic mansion located in Washington’s Dupont Circle neighborhood. It was the favorite mansion on the 48th Annual Dupont Circle House Tour.
The twenty-room, Washington Troubadour mansion was designed as a private residence for opera singer Sarah Whittemore. Her next home was Whittemore House, home of the Woman’s National Democratic Club. Later President’s Lincoln’s son Todd Lincoln lived there.
The National League of American Pen Women is a nonprofit organization of professional women in arts, letters, and music that was founded in 1897 when women journalists were not permitted to join the National Press Club. The League became a professional organization for women writers, artists and composers. Its mission is to support and promote creative excellence and professional standards among women in the arts.
We’ll have hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar with white wine, beer, soda, and water.

|The Ivy Singles Social Club (ISSC) is a coalition of Ivy League, Seven Sister and other prestigious schools' regional alumni associations that sponsors social activities. Our events are open to all single alumni of member schools and their guests. Most of our attendees are in their 30's, 40's or 50's. All ages are welcome.|
|We would welcome volunteers for our board who are alumni of the University of Chicago, Brown, Penn, Duke, Johns Hopkins, Mt. Holyoke, Bryn Mawr, Smith, and similar colleges. It's fun and educational to organize events. Interested? Mention it at the front desk of our events, or contact one of our event organizers!|
